RUSTIE – GLASS SWORDS
We should have seen this coming. Ultra Thizz hinted at Rustie’s unashamed, no-holes-barred approach to bass-synth-funk mashing. In that sense, Glass Swords, his debut LP, is nothing short of explosive. Without taking a moment’s rest, we are stampeded and transported through every possible realm imaginable, with the helping hand of a sizeable chunk of 8-bit video gaming on the way. It’s an invigorating listening experience, unpredictable and reassuringly complex, held together by the centrepiece track Ultra Thizz. Defying any sort of genre definition, perhaps the most impressive thing here if how effortless Rustie makes it all sound, check the full stream out over at the guardian and Ultra Thizz below.
