MEXICANS WITH GUNS X BONAFIDE BEATS #16

For volume 16 of Bonafide Beats we’re proud to present one of the most exciting and enigmatic new members of the US beat scene, Mexicans with Guns. Ernest Gonzales, the man behind the mask, was born in San Antonio though his amorphous, bass heavy music has found a natural home in LA, with headline shows at Low End Theory and debut LP Ceremony released on the Stones Throw associated Innovative Leisure label.

The Freddie Gibbs and Bun B featuring Highway to Hell caused plenty of ripples in the blogosphere a few months back and MwG’s mix for Bonafide is dominated by his own similarly emotive and aggressive productions. Mark this guy firmly in the ‘one to watch’ category.

MWG – Opening Incantation
MWG – Deities
MWG – Obsidian
MWG – Restart
Robot Koch – Devil Drums
MWG – Jaguar
MWG – Precession
MWG – La Luna y El Sol
MWG – DJ Orion
MWG – La Guitarra
MWG – Los Perritos
