FRIDAY FUNK. INTRODUCING MR CHOP

Friday funk is this week inspired by Mr Chop. His Lightworlds release introduced me to his rich, luxurious electronic funk. What inspired this post though is his forthcoming For Pete’s Sake LP which sees him take his analogue scalpel and rework some of Pete Rock’s greatest beats.
Released through the mysterious Five Day Weekend label, launched with releases from Peanut Butter Wolf and Edan and seemingly managed by someone playing the musical equivalent of Fantasy Football, For Pete’s Sake comes out on the 7th December and should be on any headz Christmas list. Seriously, if you enjoyed the El Michels Affair’s Enter the 37th Chamber LP then you will appreciate this. The intense reconstruction of T.R.O.Y is worth the admission price alone.
