MIKE-L DIGGERS ANTHEM LIVE VIDEO

Through filming this, in what looks like a nuclear bunker, Mike-L both confirms his status as one of the UK’s most underground and talented turntablists, and debunks the myth that all DJs are secretive about the way that they make their music. Listen to Mike-L’s excellent LP at his Bandcamp page and download his long awaited and critically feted contribution (well by us anyway) to the Bonafide Beats series here.

MUDMOWTH AND METABEATS X BONAFIDE BEATS #13

Metabeats and Mudmowth Bonafide Beats

For the #13 chapter of Bonafide Beats we’re proud to have Metabeats and Mudmowth taking charge of production duties. Part of the Associated Minds clan – think a more local, accessible version of the Wu living in dragon roaming country but without the ongoing court cases and internal beefs (I think) – the duo have pillaged their vinyl collection and boiled down their musical inspiration into 35 minutes of superbly cooked musical goodness. …Read More.

AIRS N GRACES

Nike Liberty blazers

Streetwear sage Milly Cundall brings her Airsngraces blog to Bonafide for a new monthly report on what’s kicking in the world of fashion and, um, kicks.

There’s no doubt about it, Spring has sprung and summer promises not to be far behind. It’s time to begin indulging a little thought, at least, in barring some flesh, reaching for those shorts and investing in some fresh summer kicks and T’s. With that in mind, this spring/summer is all about brand collaborations and so I present to you, the extremely exciting third Nike X Liberty collaboration. From the scrums I witnessed at the launch last week, these are to be the kick of choice this summer. There’s 12 styles in total from the Dunk Hi to the Air Force 1 and the current trainer of choice the Blazer (mid and low). All feature unique and distinct Liberty prints including the hugely iconic floral designs. They look equally hot on fellas as the ladies so, gents don’t be put off, ladies like a man who can rock some flower power with confidence!

RETURN OF THE DRIFTER

Ok, so if you haven’t seen it yet, the ‘‪JEHST IS MY POSTMAN!!!????!?!? …‬’ youtube vid (posted here yesterday) was actually a clever lead in to this new video. It’s been a while since we’ve heard any new material from Billy Brimstone, but it sounds like it was worth the wait. We also have it on very good authority that his upcoming album The Dragon Of An Ordinary Family is a true return to form. Oh, and if you haven’t read the Bonafide exclusive with Jehst and the whole YNR family in Bonafide 04, then check it here and grab a copy here.

OFFICIAL PROMO: BEASTIE BOYS – FIGHT FOR YOUR RIGHT REVISITED

We’re super hyped about this Beastie Boys promo video for Fight for your right revisited. Not 100% sure what it’s about yet but from what we understand it’s a continuation of the original (You Gotta) Fight For Your Right (To Party) video on some Back to the Future (See if you can spot the Delorean DMC-12 in the background), Bill and Ted’s Bogus Journey type of shit. The cast includes Will Ferrell, Ted Danson, Seth Rogen, Elijah Wood, Danny McBride, Steve Buscemi, Alicia Silverstone, Kirsten Dunst, Orlando Bloom plus a shedload more. Ridiculous. See if you can spot the Beastie Boys cameo. …Read More.

REVIEW: KILLER MIKE – PL3DGE

Killer Mike
Pl£dge
Grand Hustle Records

Atlanta is a crowded place. Home to everyone from Outkast to Soulja Boy, it can be a struggle to compete for attention and give an original voice. One man who could easily feel aggrieved is Dungeon Family affiliate, Killer Mike who has had to watch as things like Snap and tons of other bullshit have enjoyed there moment in the sun at the expense of his coke-rap Pledge Allegiance trilogy. …Read More.
